Redtail's CISO should be Red Faced

According to Investment News (check out their story here), Redtail CRM data breach exposed names, addresses, dates of birth and Social Security numbers. Turns out, their logging system captured "a small subset of the sensitive investor data" advisers keep on their CRM system.

Redtail CEO Brian McLaghlin "also clarified there was no intentional break-in of Redtai's systems by a third-party." Mad Max's question: How the hell would he know?  Redtail has no DMARC phishing/enforcement on their website, which is surprising considering that Technology Tools for Today's 2019 Software Survey names Redtail as "one of the most popular CRMs among financial advisers." And Redtail "…commands a 57% market share."

Give. Me. A. Break.
