Best Western, start your class action engines!
According to siliconANGLE (read the story here), the Best Western-owned reservation system, Autoclerk, sucks monkey balls (okay, I editorialized that a bit). The 179-gigabyte database included names, date of birth, home address, phone number, dates and costs of travel, masked credit card details and check-in-time and room number. Since neither the hotel chain nor their reservation system has a DMARC record, you'd think that would be bad. But the schmucks' data was in the open and unprotected, thanks to an AWS setup mockup. Can you say MASSIVE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT? Sure, I knew you could.
