A lot of finger pointing over 1.2 billion-record data breach

Wired Magazine (read the story here) reports that "…four data sets cooled together…three labeled…as coming from …People Data Labs." Of course, PDL denies it was breached. But you can get 1000 social profiles per month free, if you're a hacker on a tight budget. It's also possible that one of the data troves came from Oxydata, who also denies they suffered a data breach. Mitigating, things, however, is the fact that PDL only enforces 5% of the fraudulent attempts to phish their domain. So my bet is on PDL as the culprit.
