100 UPS Stores phished, thanks to proofpoint non-enforcement.
SC Media reports (read it here) that about 100 UPS Stores that "…an unauthorized party successfully devised a phishing scheme to gain entry into the email accounts of numerous store locations." Interestingly, they accessed documents that customers emailed to stores for printing and related services. Phished date included names, government-issued identification and financials.
Jailhouse lawyer Mad Max predicts fallout, and recommends attorneys for the victims also add proofpoint to the suit, since proofpoint has turned off email phishing/spoofing/impersonation enforcement (p=none).
Sincerely, the ever helpful
